山下京之助の最新パート、PRIMITIVEによる DAYDREAM（2024年2月）から早数ヶ月。Filipe Mota、Dylan Jaebらと並ぶ
素晴らしいパートを残した京之助に撮影の裏側を訊く。
It's been a few months since Kyonosuke Yamashita's latest part in PRIMITIVE's ”DAYDREAM” (February 2024). We catch up with Kyonosuke, who delivered an amazing part alongside Filipe Mota and Dylan Jaeb, to hear about the behind-the-scenes of the shoot.

-----DAYDREAMのパートについて撮影期間はどれくらいかかったのかな？
-----How long did it take to film your part in Daydream?

Kyonosuke（以下K）: 大体1年半くらいかかりました！ 

K: It took about a year and a half!

-----撮影で訪れた街はいくつありますか？ 

-----How many cities did you visit to film the part?

K: 全部で5カ国で撮影しました！ポルトガルのリスボン、ノルウェーのオスロ、スイスのチューリッヒ、アメリカのLAとサクラメント、そして東京です。期間中にEUツアーが3回あったのでEUの映像が多めでしたね。あと、フィルマーのEric（Iwakura）は日本に縁があることもあって、何度も日本に来てくれました。

K: We filmed in five countries in total! Lisbon in Portugal, Oslo in Norway, Zurich in Switzerland, LA and Sacramento in the USA, and Tokyo. We had three EU tours during this time, so there’s a lot of EU footage. Also, our filmer Eric (Iwakura) has a lot of connections in Japan, so he came over several times.

彼らとの違い、京之助自身の個性を考えたと思うんだけど、何か取り組んだことはありましたか？
----- You skated with Filipe Mota, Dylan Jaeb, and other Primitive legends. How did you manage to stand out and show your own style?

K: Filipeはハンドレールがめっちゃ得意でガンガンにハンマー系で、Dylanはテクニカルなレッジとかマニュアル、ステアが半端ない。自分は2人がやらないようなスポットとかトリックができたらいいなと思って撮影してました。
K: Filipe is great on handrails and goes hard with hammer tricks. Dylan is amazing with technical ledges, manuals, and stairs. I tried to film at spots and do tricks that they wouldn’t, to show my own style.

-----トリックやラインのアイデアを出す、おすすめの方法はある？
-----Any tips for coming up with trick and line ideas?

K: 見てて気持ちいいなと思う流れを意識してるかもしれません。あとはラインで入ってたらかっこいいなと思うトリックとか、誰もやらなそうなスポットの使い方を考えてます。
K: I try to create a flow that feels good to watch. I also think about tricks that would look cool in a line, and ways to use spots that no one else might think of.

-----ラストトリックのSwitch backside heelは3回通ったね…!

-----You went back three times for the last trick, the switch backside heel, right?

K: はい、3回通いました。最初フィルマーのAnthony （Claravall）が日本にいる間にパートのラストトリック撮ろうって話してて、じゃあ麻布のステアはどうって話になってトライしに行きました。1回目、2回目は2時間くらいトライしたんですけどキックアウトされて乗れなくて3回目行く前にAnthonyが帰っちゃったんですよ。それで3回目はカメキョウくんにお願いして、人通りを見てもらうためにルームメイトのオナブとガクにも来てもらいました。でも1時間くらいやったらキックアウトされて、一旦スポットを離れてもう一回リベンジして、1時間くらいトライしてメイクできました。夜中に一緒に撮影に来てくれたみんなと3回とも来て写真を撮ってくれた井関さんには感謝しかないです。


K: Yeah, three times. At first, filmer Anthony (Claravall) was in Japan, and we planned to shoot the last trick while he was here. We decided on the stairs in Azabu. The first and second times, I tried for about two hours but got kicked out both times. Anthony had to leave before the third attempt, so I asked Kamekyo to film it. My roommates Onabu and Gaku also came to watch out for people. We got kicked out after about an hour, left for a bit, then came back and tried again for an hour before landing it. I'm super grateful to everyone who came out to shoot with me and to Iseki-san, who shot photos all three times.

ウケるエピソードはある？
-----Any funny stories about filming the last trick and living with your roommates?

K: 最近は騒ぎすぎて家に警察が2回来ました。他にもいっぱいあるんですけどここでは言えないです笑。
K: Recently, we made so much noise that the police came to our house twice. There are a lot more stories, but I can't really talk about them here, haha.

-----2024年、2025年の今後の動きについて、可能な範囲で教えてください。
-----What are your plans for 2024 and 2025?

K: 今年の夏にErasedでフルレングスを出す予定です。あとはナオヤンの作品のためにめっちゃ動いてます！
K: We're planning to release a full-length video with Erased this summer. I'm also working a lot on Naoyan's project!

2024年6月、突如公開された池ケヤキの"flowgressive"パート。VXカメラを使用して撮影から編集までを担当したBIG WING DIST. 代表のハブさんこと羽太芳夫に訊く。

Q. ケヤキのパートいきなりリリースしましたね。ケヤキの服装などから考えて、長い期間撮影していたようですが、実際はどれくらいの期間かかりましたか？
Hello Yoshio! You suddenly released Keyaki's part. Considering Keyaki's outfits, it seems like you were filming for a long time. How long did it actually take?

A. 撮影スタートは2023年3月でした。今回のTHRASHERでの公開まで考えると全部で1年3ヶ月です。ケヤキもコンテストやデモとか他の用事も多いので、毎週末撮影で動けたわけでもなく、1回も撮影に行けない月が何度かありました。編集は映像が撮れる度にDV TAPEからデータにして編集しながら撮影していましたね。音源を担当してくれたハルカが曲を作った後、2024年3月から本格的に編集はじめました。
The filming started in March 2023. Considering the release on Thrasher, it took a total of 1 year and 3 months. Keyaki had many other commitments like contests and demos, so we couldn’t shoot every weekend. There were even months when we couldn’t film at all. I edited the footage while converting it from DV tape as soon as we captured it. After Haruka Katagata, who was in charge of the soundtrack, created the music, we started full-scale editing in March 2024.

Q. 全てハブさんが撮影して、編集したのでしょうか？
Did you shoot and edit everything by yourself?
・
・
A. 撮影は基本、僕です。でも、今僕が住んでいる家のすぐ裏にヨウイチっていうスケーターの友達が住んでいて彼のタイミングが合った時は一緒に撮影に来てくれて、彼に引きのアングルを頼んでVX２台で撮影する事もありました。パートの中でフィッシュと引きの２アングルあるのは引きをヨウイチが撮影しています。編集も基本僕でしたが、ケヤキ本人、そして音楽担当のハルカと一緒に詰めて行きました。編集しながら、気になるフッテージをもう撮り直ししたり、ともかく、みんなが納得いくまでやったので結構時間がかかりましたね。もちろん、編集だけずっとやってたわけではないですが、トータル約２ヶ月ぐらい編集作業にかかり増した。煮詰まった時にもっさん（Bigwing スタッフ)に聞くと冷静な判断を言うのでそれも助かりましたね。ライダーとブランド、働くみんなで作ったパートだと思っています。

I did most of the filming. However, my skater friend Yoichi, who lives right behind my house, would join and help shoot whenever he was available. When he was there, we’d shoot with two VX cameras, and he’d handle the long shots. In the part, the long shots were filmed by Yoichi. I did most of the editing, but Keyaki and Haruka (who did the music) also contributed. Sometimes, we’d re-shoot footage if we weren’t satisfied. It took quite some time because we wanted everyone to be happy with the result. Although I didn’t work on the editing non-stop, it took about two months in total. When I got stuck, Mossan (from Bigwing Dist) gave helpful advice, which was a big help. I think the part was created by the combined efforts of the rider, the brand, and everyone involved.

Q. BIGWINGとして、ケヤキのキッズ時代からサポートしていますが、どんなきっかけだったのですか？

You’ve been supporting Keyaki since his childhood as Bigwing. How did that come about?

・
A. Bigwingとしてだと…かなり昔からですね。インスタを辿ると2011年、今から１3年前にBigwingに彼のお父さんが作ったケヤキのスポンサーミーDVDが届いたのが、最初のコンタクトでした。そして、初めて彼に会ったのは、その翌年2012年大阪のヴェニスくんの家に僕とRich Adler、Hiroki（村岡洋樹）の３人で泊めさせてもらって、そこに突如ミニケヤキが一人で現れて、持って来ていた２枚目のスポンサーミーDVDをみんなで観賞しました。ちなみにそのスポンサーミーDVDでも、まだスポンサーはしなかったです。そして、その翌年2013年にまた新しい3枚目のスポンサーミーDVDを送って来ました。当時ケヤキは小学校５年生ですね。それを見て当時度肝を抜かれました。その映像はケヤキのBigwing dist Welcome映像として再編集し、You tubeにあります。長い話ですね。。スポンサーするまで３年のヒストリーですね。

As Bigwing dist, it goes way back. According to Instagram, it started in 2011, 13 years ago, when Keyaki’s father sent us his sponsor-me DVD, which was our first contact. I met him for the first time the following year, in 2012, at Venice’s house in Osaka, where I stayed with Rich Adler and Hiroki Muraoka. Mini Keyaki suddenly showed up there and we watched his second sponsor-me DVD together. Even then, we didn’t sponsor him yet. Then, in 2013, he sent a new third sponsor-me DVD. Keyaki was in 5th grade then. We were blown away by that footage. We re-edited it as Keyaki's Bigwing Dist Welcome video, which is on YouTube. It’s a long story... It took three years of history before we decided to sponsor him.

Q. ハブさんの次の野望は？
Yoshio, what are your next ambitions?

A. 内緒です笑。
