I saw that you started skate in 2011 at the age of 11,

what made you start skate?/ 2011年、11歳でスケートを始めたようなんだけど、 きっかけは何だったの？

T.K

In reallty, I started skating before 11 years old so chill.

2011, New indoor skate-park called Fuzenna was build in my neibor.
It's the biggest hook for starting skate so hard. It's just 3 minuite away fro my home, so I really got into skate like every day.
Fuznna was closed few years later...

スケート自体、実はもっと前からかじってたんですよ。

11歳のときに、今はもうクローズしちゃったんですけどFuzennaっていうボウルとミニランプのインドアパークができて

家からチャリで3分のとこだったので、そこでまた毎日滑るようになりました。

Why do you think you became so good at transitions?/ なぜトランジションを得意になったと思う？

T.K

It's all because of friends builed the environment. I started skate at FUZZENNA. After it was gone, WOODS Skatepark was build soon. They changed to skateshop now./ 環境を作ってくれた人たちのおかげです。FUZZENNAでスケートを始めたのと、それがなくなった後、すぐにWOODSのパークが出来たから。WOODSは今スケートショップになっています。

It's the part what you try to greet everyone on your way out and it never ends.... / 帰り際全員に挨拶しにいこうとすると終わらないところですかね...。

What is  your favorite street spot? Handrails? Stairs? or Banks?

Few weeks ago, I shot photos of Leo Valls in his home town Bordeaux France and asked him few questions about his iconic spot "Pi-Pi banks”.

Yo Leo, Let me ask you some questions about your "Pi-pi banks".

Do you know something like general history of the banks?

L.V

They’re basically just corner wall banks to drain water when it rains. 

You can find many of those in different shapes, sizes and forms in Europe. 

Sometimes they’re super old.

I personally called them Pi-pi banks cause they’re often stinky and dirty.

 I guess us French people have a weird sense of humor. 

They are not made for pissing on them though but

it seems like some skaters believe that now, haha.

 When did you start paying attention to Pi-pi banks and why?

L.V

I used to be a big fan of Bobby Puleo collecting cellar doors in NYC. 

I grew up skating French cities surrounded by those pi-pi banks and

 I got interested in making them part of my skateboarding. 

There is usually not much you can do with them but 

I found them aesthetically pleasing so I decided to 

start searching for them and collecting them.

Is they are skated a lot?

L.V

People don’t really skate them much, no.

These days, I enjoy finding rough and

sketchy ones that most skaters

wouldn’t look at as a skate spot.

L.V

I was just there with my friend Remi Luciani working on an article and a new video. 

It was so fun to be back in Japan after all these years and Covid making it impossible to travel there. 

So many good friends to see.

I’d like to come back in 2024 for sure!
